The Black Hills

July 1, 2013 | Sarah Martin

Let me start off by saying this, I love the Black Hills. This could easily be one of the most beautiful places in the world. Until you are here and see it all in person, there is no way of understanding how truly great it is. Experiencing God out here is experiencing Him in his truest form. Simply walking out my front door reminds me of how great the Lord’s love is for me. After all, He made all of this to display His love for His people. He made this to bring us joy and reveal part of Himself to us. What a great thought. The people here are just as beautiful as the scenery. Getting to meet so many unique individuals is inspiring. From those who are Native American to the world travelers, everyone has showed me a little bit more about the Lord regardless if they realize it or not. I am beyond thankful for this summer and all the Lord has planned.

"It was a great challenge and stretching experience to learn how to lead and equip others for ministry, not being over-controlling or non-present. In the seminary context, I hope to talk through some of these learning and challenging experiences with my professors."
– Jonathan, Calvin Theological Seminary 2011
