SEMINARY SCHOLARSHIP

ACMNP has a designated scholarship fund for participating seminarians. A scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be granted to any seminarian who completes a full season of ministry with ACMNP to supplement their summer earnings. The amount increases to $2,500 for seminarians who serve for two or more seasons. This scholarship will be forwarded directly to the seminary and credited to the seminarian’s account. Read on to learn how ACMNP is a relevant ministry experience for seminary students.

Field Education Experience

Most seminaries that have short term opportunities endorse the ACMNP experience as an integral learning internship. Areas of practical ministry include:
  • Pastoral Listening & Counseling
  • Cooperative Team-building
  • Worship Leadership
  • Preaching
  • Christian Education
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Church Administration & Accountability

Seminary students who have arranged for seminary credit should be aware of the following information: Prior to arriving at your park you will be in contact with a seminary approved mentor. This person will work with each seminarian assigned to your park, individually and in group sessions. Prior to your arrival you will establish areas to explore together, which will serve as the agenda for your summer of immersion. Staff Members serving for Field Education credit will want to explore their individual goals as directed by the particular program on a weekly basis.

Bi-Vocational Ministry

ACMNP is a unique opportunity to be employed alongside those who are looking for spiritual direction and to lead worship in a context that boldly displays God’s creativity and power. In Paul’s day this was referred to as Tent-Making Ministry. More recently, church leaders involved in this type of ministry have been called Worker-Priests. Today, it is more commonly called Bi-Vocational Ministry. This type of ministry has helped the Christian Church grow and clarify its mission because it is as practical as those who were first called by Jesus.

Cross-Cultural Immersion

ACMNP offers placement in National Park locations that exposes seminarians to people from many different countries and Native American Nations. Recent studies have revealed that approximately 30% of seasonal employees in the National Parks are international workers. Also, the distinctive sub-culture of Americana generally found in seasonal work environments provides a unique homeland experience.
